Erik Burmeister Success Story

Erik Burmeister is an artist.

Tell me about yourself?

I’m a computer science student who likes to make pixel art. I have a passion for games and would like to become a full-time developer of quality games. The industry is going in a direction I don’t like. I’m hoping to push back.

Tell me about your work experience?

I have no prior work experience in the field.

At what age did you start doing work and develop a love for artwork?

I developed a love for pixel art around the time I was 22.

How did you develop a fondness for artwork?

There is a lot of nostalgia there, but I also just love the look and simplicity.

Did you study artwork? If yes then from where?

From where did you learn this?

Why did you choose art as a profession?

Games are a visual medium. I find that visually appealing games tend to be more accepted.

Who are your biggest influences?

Nintendo. They are about quality and I can’t appreciate that enough. Especially, in this day and age.

How do you become a successful artist?

Have cool work. I am not a successful artist by any stretch.

What makes you good and different from others?

I have a vision and an eye for quality.

What does your art represent and does art mean to you?

A way to entertain and escape.
